Testing task: Read information about a checked radio button in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Regular crust' radio button, read information about the radio button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the first radio button, and sets its state to checked.
  3. With the reading cursor on the 'Regular crust' radio button, read information about the radio button.
  4. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Regular crust' radio button, read information about the radio button.
    • Insert+Tab
    • Insert+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'radio button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Regular crust' is conveyed

  4. Position of the radio button, 1, is conveyed
  5. Number of radio buttons in the group, 3, is conveyed
