Testing task: Close a nested modal dialog

With JAWS in PC cursor active mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Starting at the 'Close' button inside the nested dialog, close the dialog."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that opens the 'Add Delivery Address' dialog followed by the 'Verification Result' dialog, and sets focus on the 'Close' button inside the second dialog.
  3. Press Alt+Delete to determine which cursor is active. If the virtual cursor is active, press Insert+z to disable the virtual cursor.
  4. Starting at the 'Close' button inside the nested dialog, close the dialog.
  5. Using the following commands, Starting at the 'Close' button inside the nested dialog, close the dialog.
    • Escape (virtual cursor active)
    • Space (virtual cursor active)
    • Enter (virtual cursor active)
    • Space (PC cursor active)
    • Enter (PC cursor active)

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'dialog' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Add Delivery Address' is conveyed
  3. Role 'button' is conveyed
  4. Name 'Verify Address' is conveyed
