Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the 'Style/Color' menu item.
  3. Open "Style/Color" menu with down arrow.
  4. Navigate to 'Italic' menu item and check it by pressing enter. (the menu will close.)
  5. Re-open "Style/Color" menu with down arrow.
  6. Navigate to 'Italic' menu item checkbox
  7. Using the following commands, Navigate to 'Italic' menu item checkbox
    • Up Arrow / Down Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. The name 'Italic' is conveyed
  2. The role 'menu item checkbox' is conveyed
  3. The checked state is conveyed
  4. The position of the item and number of items in the menu are conveyed
  5. The name and role of the 'Font Style' group are conveyed
