Testing task: Navigate backwards to a link in reading mode

With NVDA in reading mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'W3C website' link."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the 'W3C website' link.
  3. With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'W3C website' link.
  4. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'W3C website' link.
    • Shift+U
    • Shift+K
    • Up Arrow
    • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'link' is conveyed
  2. Name 'W3C website' is conveyed
