Testing task: Navigate forwards out of a contentinfo landmark in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Bottom' link, navigate to the 'Navigate backwards from here' link."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the 'Bottom' link.
  3. With the reading cursor on the 'Bottom' link, navigate to the 'Navigate backwards from here' link.
  4. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Bottom' link, navigate to the 'Navigate backwards from here' link.
    • Down Arrow
    • U
    • Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. contentinfo landmark boundary is conveyed
  2. Role 'link' is conveyed
  3. Name 'Navigate backwards from here' is conveyed
